UK Box Office Analysis 12th - 14th July 2019

There was little doubt that the new Spider-Man movie would remain at the top of the UK box office on its second weekend of release with only Annabelle Comes Home making a new entry on the top 5.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

The last film in the phase 3 of the MCU remains at the top of the UK box office for a second weekend with a gross of £4.3 Million.

This puts the films total UK gross at £22.5 Million which is well ahead of the films predecessors £16.8 Million after 2 weeks.

In fact the film is on par with Spider-Man 3 which is the top grossing Spidey film at this stage of release.

Toy Story 4

The animated sequel from Pixar is at 2 this week with a weekend take of £3.8 Million.

This puts the films total UK gross at &42.5 Million after 4 weeks of release and is the second highest grossing film of the year behind Avengers: Endgame.

The film is also the highest total grossing movie on the box office this week (outside of Casino Royale on its Secret Cinema run).

Annabelle Comes Home

The new film from The Conjuring Universe enters the UK box office at number 3 this week with £2.2 Million.

This is good for a film from the horror franchise and is the highest opening film from the Annabelle trology.

Yesterday

Danny Boyles Beatle influenced film is at 4 this week with a gross of £1 Million pushing the films total to £8.1 Million.

Aladdin

The Disney Live action movie has been a bit of a surprise hit and this week is at number 5 with £355,707.

This puts the films total UK gross at £35 Million and its the fourth biggest hit of the year so far.

The Matrix

Making a return to the UK box office for its 20th anniversary is the ground breaking movie from 1999 from the Wachowski siblings.

The film is presented in a brand new 4K restoration and takes £163,812 this weekend, the other 2 films in the series were also released in 4K restoration prints.

Rocketman

The Elton John films has the longest run on the chart this weekend with 8 weeks and has a total UK gross of £22.8 Million.
